The WHO chief, Tedros Ghebreyesus, has addressed the residents of Tenerife, aiming to alleviate fears surrounding the hantavirus outbreak linked to the cruise ship MV Hondius.
The ship is scheduled to arrive on May 10, 2026, and local authorities are reportedly implementing measures to ensure public safety.
Ghebreyesus emphasized that the situation is not comparable to previous health crises, such as Covid-19, as preparations continue for the ship's docking.
